2009 ScheduleWednesday Nov 25th (day before Thanksgiving) noon-5pm Sunday - Thursday noon - 5 pm Saturday and Friday 9:00-5:00 We will be offering green and flocked wreaths in many sizes, garland, swags, cemetery mounds, tombstone toppers and baskets of greenery and spruce tips for outdoor decorating. We also sell the best tree stand on the market and Neal will even connect it to your tree for free! Our gift shop will feature Santas, Snowmen, Tree Ornaments, and new this year will be tasty jams just right for gift giving or Christmas morning. The barn will be warm with the wonderful scents of Christmas trees and hot cider!! We will cut your tree, if you like, shake it, net it and load it into your vehicle. We include a disposal bag with every tree we sell. Our friendly staff will be waiting for your visit. Our super kids and great friends help us out during the selling season and we appreciate their many volunteer hours.

Country Pines Tree Farm is a member of the Iowa Christmas Tree Growers Association. We have been members since our first year of planting in 1990. We have 5 acres of Christmas trees planted on our acreage. Planting of the 8"-12" seedlings begins as soon as the frost is out. We use a gas powered auger to dig the holes and then hand plant each seedling. We plant about 500 each spring.
We plant seedlings in a seed bed to acclimate them to our soil and to give them extra care to get them started growing. We mainly have Black Hills Spruce and Fraser Fir trees in the seed bed but also some scotch pines. Fir and spruce trees take 3-4 years longer to grow to the height we sell for Christmas Trees.
Family is an important part to the holiday season for us, and ours can be found helping all throughout the farm. Kennedy is 6 and Kannon is 3 so Grandpa and Grandma have lots of extra workers during this busy time of the year.
